1 . Qutub Minar

In the year 1193, Qutub-ud-din Aibak constructed this 73-meter-tall tower. The Qutub Minar was erected to commemorate Muslim dominance in Delhi following the overthrow of the city’s final Hindu king. With five stories and projecting balconies, it is India’s tallest skyscraper. Marble and sandstone make up the latter two levels, while red sandstone makes up the first three.

Three distinct architectural styles can be seen in the Qutub Minar. Aibak (who only made the basement) started the minar’s construction. Subsequently, Firoz Shah Tuglak built the final two stories, after which Iltutmish contributed three more.

2. Red Fort

One of Delhi’s greatest historical monuments is the Red Fort.This massive red sandstone fort is a symbol of the Mughal Empire’s grandeur and is often associated with Delhi. Shah Jahan began construction on it in 1638, and it took around ten years to finish.

The Red Fort, an octagonal structure that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has walls covered in calligraphy and flowers that are usually in the exquisite Mughal architectural style.

3 .Humayun's Tomb

Humayun’s Tomb is located not far from the Red Fort. Encircled by breathtaking gardens, Emperor Humayun’s ultimate resting place is this 16th-century tomb. One of the most stunning monuments in Delhi to visit is the exquisite combination of red sandstone and white marble, as well as the symmetrical design and detailed decoration. The monument is situated in the middle of gardens designed in the Charbagh style, which have canal-connected pools. It has two entrances, one on the west side and one on the south. Two significant architectural features of Mughal buildings are the octagonal shape of the building and the tall central arch.

4.Old Fort

Sher Shah Suri, the king of Afghanistan, constructed the Purana Qila, one of the oldest monuments in Delhi. The Humayun Gate, the Talaqi Gate, and the Bada Darwaza are the three entrances to the fort. Sandstone was used in the construction of all of the double-story gates.

Beautiful pavilions, balconies, and umbrellas at the north and south gates enhance the fort’s majesty and splendor.

5. India Gate

10. Gurudwara Bangala Sahib
