1. MEHRANGARH FORT

Mehrangarh fort

This historic fort is one of the most famous in India and is packed with history and legends. Its 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort is a former palace that’s now a museum, displaying weapons, paintings and elaborate royal palanquins (sedan chairs). Set on on a rocky outcrop, the fort overlooks the walled city, where many buildings are painted the city’s iconic shade of blue.

2. UMAID BHAWAN PALACE

Umaid Bhawan Palace was built by Maharaja Umaid Singh in 1929 to counter a famine which had hit the state at the time. Built with sandstone and marble, the architecture of the palace is described as a blend of lndo-Saracenic, Classical Revival and Western Art Deco styles. It is recognized as one of the largest private homes in the world and also one of the more spectacular buildings. It is the only palace built in the 20th century.

3. JASWANT THADA

Jaswant Thada sits beside a lake just a little away from the Mehrangarh Fort. This milky white marble monument, built in the 19th century, commemorates the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh who ruled Jodhpur, invested well in his state.The huge cenotaph is built with thin sculpted marble sheets, specially designed to emit light when sunlight falls on the structure.

8. KAYLANA LAKE

Visiting Kaylana Lake in Jodhpur is a wonderful experience. You can take a peaceful boat ride on the lake and enjoy the calm water and beautiful views of the surrounding hills. It is constructed in 1872 by Pratap Singh, it serves as a reservoir to provide water to the city. Kaylana Lake is also a favored spot for birdwatchers, as migratory birds often visit during winter months.
